Sarangkot is often called one of the best paragliding spots in the world (Studentsfare, Tripsavvy). You fly with the Annapurna range behind you, and the drop from the take-off at about 1,600 m to the lake at about 800 m makes for stable thermals and gentle winds.
The flight is only available in tandem with an experienced pilot, and lasts 20 to 30 minutes. Your pilot films it on a GoPro, so you get photos and a video to keep.

Toripani, just up the road
The take-off point is a hilltop in the village of Toripani, just 2.5 km from Superview Lodge. Every morning around 11 on a clear day, gliders launch from here towards the banks of Phewa Lake.
The lake balances the thermals and gives a large, safe landing spot on its shore.
